Amikom Student Branch: Receive 500 USD Grant from IEEE for Innovative Program!

Representatives from Amikom Students Branch (ASB) successfully received a grant of 500 USD for the development of a web-based Multiplayer Quiz Game (GAMUKIS) to SMA Negeri 1 Cangkringan students in increasing their learning spirit. On Friday, March 1, 2024, it was officially announced regarding the grant recipients from IEEE based on the IEEE STEM Grant Program. This innovative program is chaired by Dhanu Ahsan Fatih, NIM 21.61.0216, Bachelor of Informatics program, who is also the chairman of the Amikom Students Branch. The proposals submitted to IEEE amounted to 462 from all IEEE regions in the world, but only 53 proposals succeeded in getting grants and one of them was a proposal from the IEEE Amikom Student Branch.

What is the IEEE STEM Grant Program? A program designed to spur STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) outreach and innovation by providing funds to IEEE volunteers to develop new STEM programs or enhance (or maintain) existing ones so that they can Share, Give Back and Inspire. This program also involves students, teachers, parents, and volunteers from around the world, providing opportunities for exposure, learning, and STEM training. The grant program for 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 combined funded 144 programs, providing more than 176,379 USD, and representing 6 IEEE Regions.
