Bachelor of Communication Science
The Bachelor of Communication Science Study Program is one of the study programs at The Faculty of Economic and Social, University of Amikom Yogyakarta. Having four concentrations, Visual Design, Marketing, Broadcasting, and Cinema, students could learn about films production, journalism, media production, advertising, public relations, and other fields related to communication science.
OVERVIEW
The Bachelor of Communication Science Study Program is one of the study programs at The Faculty of Economic and Social, University of Amikom Yogyakarta. Having four concentrations, Visual Design, Marketing, Broadcasting, and Cinema, students could learn about films production, journalism, media production, advertising, public relations, and other fields related to communication science. This study program encourages students and graduates to emerge in the media industry. Expectantly, reaching the achievements such as The University Amikom Yogyakarta through its media production winning The Best Websites Tourism Promotion Organization Asia Pacific Cities Beijing China 2011 and being nominated as Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards Thailand 2011.
EDUCATION
The study program provides a balance teaching system, both formal classroom and professional or vocational practice. Another support is that it offers broad opportunities for students to participate in various broadcastings, films, and advertising programs. For instance, students can engage in the Channel 40 program, running by the students, at the RBTV station. Other opportunities are working with the MQFM Radio broadcaster team, Im Production MSV Pictures, and the Mataram Surya Visi Advertising Agency.
Educated with theories and skills in communication science, the International Office of the University of Amikom Yogayakarta supports students to improve their educational achievements. For instance, participate in exchange programs with universities abroad, such as Deakin University, University of Tasmania, Budapest Business School, Szechenyi Isvan University, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Asia University, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, Haute Ecole Albert Jacquard, Unitar International University, Universiti Teknologi Mara, and The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Singapore. Other opportunities are short-term mobility activities with partner media institutions overseas such as Walt Disney, Tencent, Paramount Pictures, California Pictures, KRU Studio, Blackberry, CJ Entertainment, and In2 Group.

The vision of the Communication Science Studies Program at Amikom University Yogyakarta is to become a reference for knowledge development and professional training in visual design, marketing communication, broadcasting, and cinema in Indonesia in 2030.
