The International Webinar: Film Studies

He will talk about “What Lies Beneath: Questions of Film Interpretation”, a topic that explores the methods and challenges of analyzing film texts and meanings. He will also discuss some examples of film interpretation from various genres and contexts.

The second speaker is Rivga Agusta, M.A., the Secretary of Communication Science Study Program at Amikom University. She will talk about “Social Class Representation in Korean Drama (Analysis of ‘Squid Game’ Drama Series)”, a topic that examines the popular Netflix series “Squid Game” and how it portrays the issues of class, inequality, and survival in contemporary Korean society. She will also compare and contrast “Squid Game” with other Korean dramas that deal with similar themes.

The webinar will be hosted by Rhisa Aidilla Suprapto, S.T., M.Sc. and Rona Guines Purnasiwi, S.Kom, who are lecturers at Amikom University. They will moderate the Q&A sessions and facilitate the interaction between the speakers and the participants.
