Bila Have you ever dreamed of studying abroad and exploring a different culture? Do you want to challenge yourself and expand your knowledge in a prestigious university? If you answered yes to these questions, then you might be interested in hearing the story of Nabila, an adventurous student from Amikom University who did just that!

Nabila is a third-year student majoring in Communication Science at Amikom University, one of the leading private universities in Indonesia. She has always been passionate about learning new things and meeting new people, so when she heard about the International Indonesian Scholarship and Mobility Awards (IISMA) program, she didn’t hesitate to apply.

The IISMA program is a scholarship scheme offered by the Ministry of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia to support Indonesian students who want to study abroad for one or two semesters. The program covers tuition fees, living expenses, travel costs, and health insurance for the selected students. The program also provides academic guidance and cultural orientation to help the students adapt to their new environment.

Nabila was one of the lucky students who successfully passed the rigorous selection process of the IISMA program in 2022. She chose to study at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe. The University of Groningen offers a wide range of courses in various disciplines, from arts and humanities to natural sciences and engineering. Nabila enrolled in several courses related to her major, such as intercultural communication, media studies, and public relations.

During her semester abroad, Nabila not only learned a lot from her classes, but also from her interactions with other students and professors from different backgrounds and cultures. She made many friends from all over the world and joined various activities and clubs on campus. She also took advantage of her free time to travel around the Netherlands and other nearby countries, such as Belgium, Germany, and France. She enjoyed visiting famous landmarks, museums, and festivals, as well as experiencing the local cuisine and customs.

Nabila said that studying abroad was one of the best decisions she ever made in her life. She said that it opened her eyes to new perspectives and possibilities, and helped her grow as a person and a professional. She also said that she was grateful for the support and encouragement she received from Amikom University and the IISMA program throughout her journey.

Amikom University is proud to have Nabila as one of our outstanding students who represented our institution abroad. We congratulate her on her achievements and wish her all the best for her future endeavors!
